Victoria Institute Funding

At the recent meeting of the Parish Council and following on from the presentation at the Parish Assembly and the concern voiced regarding the finances of the Victoria Institute, it was decided in principle that the Parish Council would support the Victoria Institute’s request for funding to retain an administrator.

2010/11 Budget

At the recent Parish Council meeting councillors took the decision to increase the Precept for next year to raise funds towards the exciting new plans for Fell View Play Area.

The Parish Council is committed to providing a high quality Play Area for our children to replace the somewhat outdated and obsolete equipment we have at the moment and provide facilities for toddlers.

Parish Councillors collect Best Kept Village 2009 award

Best Kept Village Awards - 2009

Congratulations are in order !!!

This year BROOKHOUSE has won the Medium Village Class in the Best Kept Village Competition.

Station Garage won the Certificate of Merit in the Shop/Filling Station category and Caton Post Office was Highly Commended.



Village Gardens Competition 2009

The Parish Council in collaboration with the Horticultural Society has been out and about judging the village gardens and they have made their decision. The Judges have been most impressed by the standard especially considering the weather we have had. Congratulations to all the winners and also to everybody in the village who take pride in their gardens.
