Allotments

The Parish Council is continuing to try and get some land for Allotments in the village but is struggling! If anybody has any land which they might want to rent out for Allotments we would love to hear from them.

The Parish Council is working with the Allotment Group to secure a small piece of land for Allotments. However there is much more demand than we can meet at present and if anybody has any land they would like to put forward we would be interested in hearing from them. There would need to be a commercial arrangement to rent the land and a minimum time period would need to be negotiated.

A committee has now been elected and will be working at trying to secure funding and suitable land for allotments. It was agreed that 1-2 acres of land would be ideal.

Following the article in the November edition of The Link asking if anyone was interested in having an allotment, we have now got over 20 people interested.

On 14th October a meeting of the Parish Council was held. One item raised by the public was the possibility of acquiring an area of land for use as allotments. Before this issue can proceed any further the Parish Council need to know how many people would be interested in having an allotment in the Caton/Brookhouse area.
