Village Garden Competition

The Parish Council in conjunction with the Gardening Club have been round and judged the Village Garden Competition. This year there was a very high standard, and luckily judging was completed before the worst of the rain!

This year’s winners were:

Best Commercial Premises :- Station Hotel Bowling Club

Best Annual Display - Mrs S Mason, 70 Hornby Road
Runner up - Mr & Mrs Hird, 4 Broadacre
Highly Commended - Mrs Moneagle, 58 Hornby Road

Best Overall Display - Mr 7 Mrs M Jackson, 47 Hall Drive
Runner up - Mr & Mrs Gott, 59 Caton Green Road
Highly Commended, Mr & Mrs Cheeseman, 22 Hawthorn Avenue

Gardens with a Difference - Mr J Brayshaw, 60 Hornby Road
Runner up - Mrs P Cresswell, 19 Hawthorn Avenue
Highly Commended - Mr J Sargent & Mrs P Edmondson, 8 Beckside.
