Caton Sports Association
At the end of another year the Big Draw was recently made: winners were as follows:
- £50 - J Steer
- £30 - D Nessbitt
- £20 - W T Fisher (again!!)
- £10 - T Holland
Special £500 winner was E Oldroyd - many congratulations!
The Sports Association would like to thank all members for their continued support over the past year and hope you will all continue your membership over the coming 12 months.
We face a challenging year as we are to undergo negotiations into a new lease with our landlords Mitchells Brewery and it will be necessary to demonstrate we have the support of the village to continue our use of the Station Field as a sports venue. So, all members are urged to support us in the new financial year together with as many new members as we can attract.
On a sadder note we have to report several recent break ins and damage to the pavilion and fittings on the field. The matter is in Police hands but we have been left with hefty bills to repair the damage done. Such acts of vandalism are a rare occurrence in the village and we would ask that all respect the work of a dedicated body of people who voluntarily give their services to provide the excellent facilities on the Station Field.
