Caton-with-Littledale twinned with Socx, France

On the 12th April 2008 a formal twinning agreement was signed by representatives of Caton-with-Littledale and Socx, France.

This ceremony, attended by 32 visitors from Socx and a number of host families and residents of Caton and Brookhouse, formalises the twinning of the two villages.

Joyce Pritchard, on behalf of the Parish Council, accepted a cast medallion from Socx council. It is inscribed on the back:

Jumelage
Caton and Brookhouse / Socx
12 avril 2008

The celebrations included a traditional Lancashire Hot Pot supper and dancing backed by a Ceilidh band.

Socx is a similar size to Caton and Brookhouse and lies a few kilometers inland from Dunkirk.
