Lost! Graham’s Cough Medicine
There seemed an air of change in Caton Pharmacy in November. Slight alteration to medicine labels, staff having problems with a normally efficient computerised till system. Then in December the ultimate shock. The customer in front asked for Graham’s cough medicine. “We do not have any” was the reply. “Well can you make some up please”. “We are sorry but Graham has sold the shop and the recipe was in his head”. The customer very reluctantly accepted an off the shelf remedy.
From G.H.H’s first entrance into the old shop in Leslie Avenue he has improved the facilities continually for the benefit of the community. As well as a continually excellent Health Centre we now had a Pharmacy working alongside to give the community the best in health care.
An era has come to an end. No matter when you entered the pharmacy if G.H.H. was present you received a friendly greeting unless ultimate concentration was need for the matter in hand. His cup of human kindness along with his calming knowledge and advice overflowed in copious amounts to all. And of course the faithful staff now experiencing change. He steered them through the realisation that even a member of a dust busting team needed an ology to push a hoover not forgetting health and safety. Any excessive pressure or demand was hidden away from the customers gaze in a pristine environment.
And finally dear reader the conception of collection and delivery did take place in the boardroom of a company headquarters. It happened in Caton many years ago usually when G.H.H. had closed the shop after the last patient had left the health centre.
God bless you Graham and your family as yet another of life’s chapters commences. May it be as happy and fulfilling as the last.
A Caton Resident.
