Caton Community Primary School PTA
The PTA held its AGM at the school during last term. Katharine Shentall was elected as Chair, Marian (Maz) Ginesi was elected as Secretary. Both were unopposed. Andrea Fawcett continues as Treasurer. After deducting expenses the PTA raised £3139 for the year ending 31st August 2007. There was £2246 in the bank of which £1000 had been earmarked as a contribution towards the cost of an outdoor climbing wall project at the school.
Parents of children at the school are reminded that they are automatically members of the PTA when their children start at the school./ All are welcome to attend the meetings and join the school’s community by helping to run the PTA events. Katharine, Maz and Andrea all feel very strongly that for the PTA to survive and prosper it must have a good friendly community spirit as its core. All three believe that raising money will naturally follow on from such a firm base.
The PTA would like to welcome new teacher Mr Storey to the school. He is a keen sportsman and has in the short time he has been at the school proved himself to be very popular with the children. The school has just received its Activemark Award in recognition of the sporting activities available to the children both during and after school throughout the year. The PTA would like to congratulate both the children and staff.
The PTA would like to thank the school’s teachers, for the extra time they put in for after school workshops, they work very hard and are currently offering Gymnastics, Indoor Football, Kwik Cricket, Cookery, Choir and Dance Club this term. These workshops are always over subscribed and the children love to attend them.
For any enquiries about the school please contact the school Secretary Jane Abra or Head Teacher Donna Sully on 770104.
