Free Library Taster Sessions in Caton
Lancashire County Library and Information Service recently acquired funding from Lancashire Economic partnership and the North West Development Agency to develop library services in rural areas of the county where there are no permanent library services.
Caton has been chosen as an area within which to develop one of the projects and after a programme of consultation with the local community; we have agreed to run 6 taster sessions in partnership with the Victoria Institute and Caton Library Trust. The sessions will start on Thursday 8th November. All are Free.
Thursday 8th November 10am to noon - “Taking your library home with you”
accessing County Library & Information resources from your home/institute i.e. using the catalogue, making requests on-line etc.
Thursday 15th November 10am to noon - "Using On-Line Reference resources
for Information, homework and cross word solutions!
Thursday 22nd November 10am to noon - “Exploring your Places”
On-line Local & family history resources.
Thursday 29th November 10am to noon - Reading Clinic
Exploring & Challenging your reading habits, discover who writes like who” and a host of other ways to broaden your reading (we can also reiterate aspects of session 1 if attendees then want to order material)
Thursday 6th December 10:45am to 11:30am - Baby Bounce & Rhyme activity
Thursday 13th Decemeber 10:45am to 11:30am - Baby Bounce & Rhyme
