Caton - Socx Twinning
On Saturday 12th April 2008 a formal twinning agreement was signed at the Victoria Institute.
Caton-with-Littledale is now twinned with Socx, France.
Caton & Brookhouse Twinning Association - Textile Collection
Submitted by Administrator on Mon, 10/11/2008 - 5:18am.To raise some funds for twinning activities, we shall be collecting textiles for recycling on Saturday 10January. Green Valley Textiles is a local textile recycling company which collects clothing, paired shoes, handbags, belts, curtains, bedding and other household textiles (except duvets and pillows).
Recent visit to Socx
Submitted by Ruth Gibbons on Thu, 27/11/2008 - 10:37am.Twenty one adults and 2 teenagers from Caton and Brookhouse travelled to our twin village of Socx, in northern France, for the first weekend in November. This was a good turn out for what was the first “whole village” exchange visit between our two communities, though not quite so good as the party of 33, including 14 children, that came here from Socx last April.
Visit to France 30 Oct - 2nd Nov 2008

Everybody – English and French alike – who took part in the events here of last April greatly enjoyed them.

On the 12th April 2008 a formal twinning agreement was signed by representatives of Caton-with-Littledale and Socx, France.
This ceremony, attended by 32 visitors from Socx and a number of host families and residents of Caton and Brookhouse, formalises the twinning of the two villages.

Many in the village will know (because there has been previous publicity in The Link) that about a year ago we received a twinning proposal from the village of Socx in northern France. Socx is a bit further from Dunquerque than we are from Lancaster.
