The Oak Tree
A successor Oak Tree was planted in the bowl of the existing Oak at the Fish Stones on Friday 27th April by the High Sheriff of Lancashire, the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Lancaster, The Chairman of Caton-with-Littledale Parish Council and the children from our two Primary Schools. You may have seen the report in the Lancaster Guardian but even so it is worth going and having a look for yourselves.
The new tree has been grown from an acorn picked from the existing tree and although it is still very small, just peeking over the wall, we hope it will thrive and in time take over from the old tree and continue the tradition of an Oak in the centre of our village. Thank you to those who attended the ceremony and made it such a success and a continuing part of the Village’s history.
