Caton Leisure Club

The committee feel it is time to tell everyone in the village about the things we do. We have over a 100 members but we still love to expand and although the majority are retired, there is no age limit. We operate from the Victoria Institute between September and May.

Every week our activities are:-

Monday

9am to 10am Gentle Keep Fit
10am to 12noon Lectures with a wide variety of Speakers
2pm to 3pm Art – do your own thing using any medium
Dominoes – come and see if you can beat the best
Bridge and other card games (small numbers at present – newcomers very welcome)

Tuesday

10.30am to 12 noon Line Dancing, with a tutor
2pm to 3pm Country Dancing with a caller (Novices Welcome)

Every month on the fourth Tuesday there is a Musical evening at the home of a member, catering for a wide range of tastes!

On the second Wednesday morning in the month there is a relatively easy walk of about 5 miles with a pub lunch to follow!

There is always an annual trip, a Christmas party, and periodic visits arranged to various theatres.

All this for an annual subscription of only £2.50.  There is an additional charge when you take part in any activity but this is usually 50p and often included is cup of tea/coffee and biscuit.

We would welcome any new members so please give us a try. Just turn up at whatever activity appeals to you.  If you require more information contact either the Chairman David Cording (770586) or the Secretary Barbara Dearnley (770085).

If you have an interesting story to tell and would like to give us a talk on a Monday morning we would be delighted to hear from you, so please ring the people listed.
