Visit to Socx - 6th to 9th May 2010
It is not too late to book your place on this trip to our twinned village in Northern France.
We shall travel by coach and ferry, leaving the village about 8.30am on Thursday 6th May and hoping to arrive in Socx about 6pm
I have been told that over the weekend we shall be taken on a boat trip around Dunkirk Harbour, visit the navy museum and “Operation Dynamo” museum and get a chance to walk on the beaches among German bunkers! So if you are at all interested in the history of WWII then this is a “must” for you.
Of course history will not be the only focus. Other activities with the French families with whom we shall be staying, enjoying good food, wine, music and dance are all being planned, as well as the junior football competition in which they hope we will enter a team. If you are under 11 years old it is not too late to join the team!
We will return on Sunday evening, hopefully arriving back home by
about 6pm.
The cost of such a fun packed weekend just has to cover the coach and ferry travel and obviously will depend on how many come with us, but we expect the maximum will be about £100 per person. Children of school age will be half price. If we do take a football team with us we are hoping to get some sponsorship for the team and enable them to travel at an even greater reduced rate.
So, if you are at all interested and want to reserve a place on the coach please contact us via this site as soon as possible.
