Caton Gala - 6th June 2009
Our Gala day is nearly upon us. Hope you are all ready with your fancy dress costumes and dressed up bikes in the theme of space to join the parade. The 2009 parade will be led by the Batalan Drummers followed by the Gala Queen Holly Mills and her attendants Megan Abra, Faye Ridgway, Reece Lennon and Adam Burkhart. Then comes the fancy dress floats and dressed up bikes for judging by our President for the day Pat Cresswell.
Don't forget the usual Miniature Gardens competition, open to the top two years at our local primary schools. Fit your gardens into a seed tray and take them along to the Gardening Club tent at any time after 10am. The Garden Club has also arranged some mini-competitions open to all. The categories are : 4 fruit scones, 4 fairy cakes, a flower arrangement in a tea cup, or a photograph with a floral theme. So all you mums, dads and children get baking and creating and bring your entries to the Gardening Club at tent any time after 10am.
