Our swifts are back and have been seen soaring high above the village, celebrating their return to the Lune Valley.  Meanwhile, the Swift Group has met and we are looking into acquiring some swift nesting boxes.  If you would like to have one on your house we can advise on box positioning; we are also looking for volunteers to help install boxes around the village.  If you would like a box and/or can help with installation please contact Jacquie on 770407.

The swift is amber-listed by the RSPB as a Bird of Conservation Concern and between 1995 and 2015 there was a 51% decline in the UK.  So, we’re trying to do our bit to encourage these wonderful birds to return to us for 3 months every summer.  Hope you’ll join us.
