Dozens of local residents joined children from Caton St Paul's School in St Paul's Church on Wednesday 13th July to mark one hundred years since the death of Clementina Addison. She was a nurse who was born in Lancaster, and leant to speak french as a child. She trained in Leicester and then volunteered to serve in France with the French Flag Nursing Corps. She became seriously ill and came home to her family in Caton, and died here on 10 July 1916. The service was broadcast by Radio Lancashire. Her grave in the church graveyard has now been marked with a plaque.
