For many years, Caton St Paul’s School has provided a home for the Lune Valley Pre School Centre.  However rising pupil numbers mean that the school now needs to use this room itself from September 2019.  So the Pre School Centre is now looking at alternative premises.

We hope to use the Club House at St Paul’s (formerly the Scout Hut).  It is very close to the school, and our children should still be able to have lunches there and use the facilities.  It will offer easier parking for parents.  There will be exciting opportunities to increase the number of children,  provide more outdoor space, improve facilities  and extend the opening hours, perhaps including school holidays.  A lot of help and support from parents/carers  and local people will be needed to make this happen though, if we go ahead.  We’ll need people with a wide range of practical skills – plumbing, new access path, fencing.  Nearer the time there will be opportunities to help with tasks such as decorating, building storage space and making display boards.  At the moment, we would particularly like to hear from people with building project management skills or the  legal expertise to advise on leases and finance. We will also need to raise funds to help repair the roof and carry out the other work required.

The Lune Valley Pre School Centre is a charity, run  by a very small group of trustees working with our manager Alison Webb.  We would be really glad of volunteers to join us in managing this exciting new stage for our much-loved Pre School Centre.
