Thanks to everyone who visited our displays at the Victoria Institute and discussed the plan with us, and to all the people who responded to our questions online or in paper. You can see a summary of the responses in the Resources> Neighbourhood Plan part of our website. The document is called Consultation FebMarch 2017 Final Report. There's a printout at the Victoria Institute too. The Steering Group is now working with our planning consultants Kirkwell's to produce a draft plan.
Caton Youth Club Trust invested the proceeds of the sale of the old youth club building and uses the interest to support youth projects in our community. In the last few years it has been able to help by providing over £4000 per year to help young people achieve their dreams and do some really amazing things both in the UK and abroad. The Caton Youth Club trustees will again have money available in July to help young people(whether individuals or groups) with leisure time activities. This is on offer to young ones living in the Caton with Littledale parish.
Sycamore Road development Revised plans and other documents have been submitted by the developers. You can see them on the Lancaster City Council website, reference 16/01603/FUL, and there are print-outs you can look at in the Library in the Victoria Institute. It is now likely that the plans will go to the May meeting of the Planning Committee.
Consultation is now open on the next stage of our Neighbourhood Plan.

The committee of Caton WI (Women's Institute) are interested in finding out what would attract more ladies in the village to become members. The WI may not be what you think it is and could be what you want it to be. By completing the survey on https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7SHSMHB you could help us to shape our future. Some printed copies of the survey can be collected from the Victoria Institute or why not come to our next meeting on Thursday 2nd March in the Victoria Institute?
You may have noticed in the summer months Caton and Brookhouse has a thriving population of swifts. One of our most impressive migrant birds can be seen and heard above the roof tops of The Victoria Institute, Methodist Church and other buildings in that vicinity. This is really good news, but the bad news is; nationally swifts are in serious decline and desperately need our help.
Consultation is now open on the next stage of our Neighbourhood Plan.

We really do need your views in order to allow us to produce a Neighbourhood Plan which will truly reflect the wishes and feelings of the villagers of Caton with Littledale.
We have a team of 7 Community Emergency Coordinators covering Caton, Brookhouse and the section of Quernmore from Crook o’Lune to the Lune Aqueduct.
- Please tell us if you could volunteer to monitor (safely!) a beck near your house if there is exceptional flooding; we can then pass the information back to the Emergency Centre in Lancaster.
- We also invite you to tell us if you or someone you care for would need help in a crisis such as Storm Desmond and any long power cuts.
Our Community Emergency Contacts are:-
Helen is looking for somewhere to rent in the village, preferably self contained so she can have a
dog. She is a non-smoker and has a car. Her mobile no is 07981635394.
Our Neighbourhood Plan should help shape the development of the whole parish of Caton-with-Littledale through to 2031. We now have a survey for everyone who lives here to complete. Actually two surveys - a short one for children and young people, and a full one for all residents.
