Cat Smith MP visits Caton

On Saturday 12th December Cat Smith MP visited Caton to have a look for herself at some of the damage caused by Storm Desmond.  She was able to see the devastating impact of the floods on farms, businesses and homes along the Lune and on trees, fields and walls at the Crook o'Lune.  A huge amount of cleaning up has already been done, almost entirely by volunteers.  Cat stressed the emergency help available to rural businesses through the Business Recovery Centre  in CityLab in Dalton Square and offered to intervene with insurers and other authorities if they do not offer prompt assistance to local farmers, businesses and residents.
