Free Library Taster Sessions in Caton
Submitted by Administrator on Mon, 01/10/2007 - 5:36am.Lancashire County Library and Information Service recently acquired funding from Lancashire Economic partnership and the North West Development Agency to develop library services in rural areas of the county where there are no permanent library services.

In November the County Council will be putting on taster sessions for various outreach activities, so please support them as it will help our library succeed.
September Library News
Submitted by Barbara Dearnley on Fri, 31/08/2007 - 6:40am.The new community library currently open in the Victoria Institute, Caton is now manned by volunteers for more hours. We are now officially open on Tuesday afternoon 2pm to 5pm, Thursday mornings 10am to 12noon and Friday evenings 3.30pm to 7pm. Our volunteers are happy to help you choose a book or give you information about forthcoming events.

If you would like to become a member either come along and join during the current opening hours or visit Caton’s Website and use the form there.
Library Update
Submitted by Barbara Dearnley on Fri, 11/05/2007 - 4:47am.A meeting was held on 10th May between the Library Trust and Lancashire County Council about the way forward with the new library service. The County Council are willing to provide a supply of books, but the Library Trust need to know what kind of books you would want them to supply to us.
Library News
Submitted by Barbara Dearnley on Tue, 24/04/2007 - 4:08pm.Lancashire County Council have received funding to re-commence a library service in Caton. The library trust will be working in collaboration with them.
Further information will follow as plans unfold.
Community Library
Submitted by Administrator on Tue, 24/04/2007 - 2:10pm.Our library is now open in the Victoria Institute. We have a good selection of books; romance, crime, thrillers, gardening, and a growing children's section. Please come and have a look.
Books can be taken out for up to three weeks. There is a folder to sign out what you have taken.
Caton Community Library Trust
Submitted by Barbara Dearnley on Fri, 26/01/2007 - 10:39am.Over the Christmas period there were a couple of exciting developments in the attempts to get a library service back into the village. We hope to get a book borrowing scheme off the ground soon. The intention is to base a small book borrowing library at the Victoria Institute where people have been dropping off their books.
