Price £7.00 per adult, accompanied children free. No dogs. The major part of the garden can be reached by wheel chair. Refreshments are available.
DIRECTIONS: Take the M6 to junction 34 then A683 to Caton (2 miles), turn right towards Quernmore and after half a mile you reach the entrance.
The September outing is on Wednesday 16th September calling at Watershed Mill on the way to Skipton. We are setting off at 9.30am returning about 6.00pm.
Tickets adults £8 children under 12 £5. Hot Pot and Apple Pie by the caterers from Lancaster Auction Mart, 7pm for 7-30pm. You are welcome to bring your own wine/drink.

The Lancaster Community Music Centre Show Band is coming to St Paul’s Church on Sun 4th October at 6pm. Tickets can be bought on the Door or tel 771271 they are £6 each, and include Harvest Punch and nibbles. Every one welcome.
You are warmly invited to our Open Morning on Tuesday, 6th October, 9 am to 11 am. It will be an opportunity to see the school and preschool in action and meet the staff. Ms Cadwallender, our new Headteacher, will be available to show people around and answer any questions. It is an open invitation to any parents who wish to come along with their children and see what we have to offer.

On Thursday October 15th we are heading for the Lakes, calling at Coniston for lunch. After a tour we shall end up at Grasmere for tea and a look round the garden centre and shops. Setting off at 9.30am, home about 6pm. We hope this outing will be well supported. Non-members will be welcome if we have room.

We are holding another of our hugely popular Nearly New Sales on Thursday 15th October at Brookhouse Methodist Church from 7.00pm till 8.30pm. This is a sale of NEARLY NEW children's items such as clothes, toys , books, baby equipment and maternity wear. Admission £1. On Saturday 17th October, Caton W.I are holding a Coffee Morning (From 10 am - 12 pm) in aid of Cancer Care, Slynedales. There will be cakes and produce to buy and a raffle. Please drop into the Institute if you are passing and help us support this worthy cause.
Come and join us at the Victoria Institute for a Wine Tasting evening on October 17th at 7.30 pm to raise funds for the refurbishment of the VI. Wine quiz, tastings, and learn more about wines.

Our last trip of the season will be to Liverpool, leaving the Victoria Institute and onwards to Brookhouse on Thursday 22nd October at 9.30am. We hope that you have enjoyed the outings during the season, and are sure that you will enjoy Liverpool. There are lots of things to do and see there.

On Friday 6th November we are holding another Textile Recycling. There will be a van parked outside School from 8.15 am until 9.15 am for you to drop your items off - please make sure they are bagged up.
Items that are suitable are as follows:- Clothing, handbags, shoes, curtains, sheets, pillowcases etc.
On Friday 6th November there is to be a concert given by Bethany children's choir from Tanzania at Brookhouse Methodist Church. The Bethany Project was funded in 1990 by visiting Church leaders from the UK. The children who make up the Bethany family were once either orphaned, abandoned or abused.
There will be Prize Bingo in the Victoria Institute on Saturday 7th November at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome, members and non-members. Come along and start your Christmas Shopping. Lots of prizes, whisky, wine and good things for Christmas.

On Tuesday 10th November we are holding a Pamper Evening at Caton Community School from 6pm - 9pm.
Pura Vida Health and Beauty, based at Total Fitness, have kindly offered us an evening of treatments including Indian Head Massage, Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage, Manicures and Pedicures, with all proceeds to Playgroup.
November Parish Council Meeting
On 12 November we will welcome Evelyn Shaw again who will demonstrate flower arrangements to take us from November through until Christmas. Her talk and demonstration using spring flowers a couple of years ago were very much enjoyed by us and we're looking forward to seeing her using flowers and foliage for a different time of year.

The Christmas Draw will be on Monday, 14th December, so please support us by buying your tickets from various shops around the village, see Judy at the Victoria Institute, or any member of the Council of Management.
Saturday 21st November in St Paul’s Church Hall there will be a slideshow featuring scenes of the Lune Valley and the local dales, by Mr David Pearcy of Garstang. The slideshow starts at 7.00pm prompt and the tickets are £3.00 including refreshments. Tickets are available from John and Margaret Taylor (770802.)

We are planning a repeat of our very successful wine tasting evening; this will be on Friday 27th November, and will again be hosted by Barry Howarth of "The Wineyard". The format is expected to be the same as last time, with a fun wine quiz as well as a tutored tasting session.

Our next meeting on December 3rd at 7.30pm in the Victoria Institute will be our Christmas party, at which we will be entertained by singer Jacqueline McDonald. It will be a Jacob's Join supper.
Please come along to our Christmas Fayre on 4th December from 3.15pm to 5.30pm. There'll be refreshments, gift stalls and a chance to meet Santa himself in his grotto. Everyone is invited to join in the fun.
On Friday 4th December the school will be holding their annual Christmas Fair at 6pm. This is a fantastic event with lots of stalls for the young and old and there will even be a visit from Santa!
We only have one meeting in December which is our Christmas Party on Monday 7th December from 1pm-4pm. Our next meeting will be on Monday January 11th when all our usual groups will begin again.
