For a 50p entrance fee come along and enjoy coffee and biscuits in the Victoria Institute – and maybe buy some plants in aid of the Caton and Brookhouse Gardening Club. This is our major fund raising event of the year and always turns out to be a friendly sociable gathering even if you don’t find anything to buy.
This lovely club is set in the heart of the Lune Valley with 3 beautiful grass courts and 2 floodlit hard courts. We invite you to come down and join us on our open afternoons and welcome players of all calibres, from beginners to champions. So please come along to our mixing-in days on Sunday 10th and 17th May at 1.30pm. Beats going to the Gym.
On Thursday May 21st we start our Summer outings we are going to Carlisle, setting off at 10.00am returning about 6pm. We have only one coach booked, but if we have room will welcome friends who are not members. Agents will contact members. Any queries ring M. Dyson on 770364.

The trip to Hawkshead/Coniston/Ambleside will leave the Victoria Institute at 9.30am on Thursday 28th May. Your representative will be calling on you to book your seat. Please remember there will be one coach only and also the coach leaves the Victoria Institute first with a pick-up at Brookhouse. Please tell your representative where you would like to board the coach when you book your seat.

June Meeting of the Parish Council
On June 11th we have arranged a special evening trip to a garden which has been featured in Amateur Gardening and on the BBC. This is Fell Yeat near Casterton, a one acre garden with all sorts in it including the national collection of ligularia. It is not hilly with slight inclines. And there is a nursery next door where you can buy plants.

Summer Fair Sun 14th June 12 noon to 2pm come and enjoy a light lunch in the Church Hall and browse the stalls, Cakes, Raffle, Plants, Tombola, Fair Traid etc.
The second in a series of three concerts is on Sun June 14th The Rushley Singers at 7-30pm.
Tickets £6 includes a glass of wine.

Open Meeting to view and comment on the proposed plans to redevelop the existing play area at Fell View
Everyone is welcome to the coffee morning at St. Paul's Church Hall on Wednesday 1st July at 10.30 - 11.45am. There will be various stalls including cakes, cards, Fairtrade, a Christian book library and a raffle.

There will be a car wash and craft fair at Brookhouse Methodist Church on Saturday 4th July from 10.00am till 1.00pm. All proceeds will go to support work with street children and poor families in Albania. Refreshments will be served.
This will take place in our beautiful garden, in Hornby, commencing at 2 p.m
The watercolour painting group will meet on Friday 10th July at Brookhouse Methodist Church from 1.00-3.00pm. All welcome. This will be our last session until September.

We have a very enjoyable day arranged travelling via Settle, Grassington, Pately Bridge, Ripon and a surprise visit to an Ice Cream Cafe.
