On November 20th we are having an old favourite Mr George Dobson talking on "A Day at the BBC." The meetings are held in the Victoria Institute on the 3rd Thursday of the month commencing at 2.15pm. We welcome new members, (over 55's).

Hornby Drama Group will be presenting a farcical comedy "Come on Jeeves" by P.G.Wodehouse and Guy Bolton in the Hornby Institute on 27th, 28th and 29th November at 7.30 p.m.

Tickets at £6.00 for adults and £4.00 for children under 16 years of age will be available at the door or in advance from the Institute (Tel: 015242 22227).

On Friday 28th November we are hosting a "Wine Tasting" evening when Barry Howarth of "The Wineyard", Princes Crescent, Bare will be giving a talk on French wines.

A social occasion with wines to sample, food to eat and also to hear about our recent trip to Socx.

On Saturday 6th December at Brookhouse Methodist Church from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. There will be music, dance, and drama, and plenty of laughs. Come and enjoy a great evening and celebrate Christmas. Refreshments will be served and any donations will go to support work with street children and poor families in Albania.

To raise some funds for twinning activities, we shall be collecting textiles for recycling on Saturday 10January. Green Valley Textiles is a local textile recycling company which collects clothing, paired shoes, handbags, belts, curtains, bedding and other household textiles (except duvets and pillows).
