The trip this month will be to Southport and will leave the Victoria Institute at 9.30am on Thursday 26th June.
Come and enjoy samples of tasty Fairtrade snacks and biscuits at the coffee morning held at St. Paul’s Church Hall on Wednesday 2nd July at 10.30 - 11.45am.
Other Fairtrade items will be for sale as well as cards, cakes, and bring and buy and a raffle. Ruth Self 770503

The watercolour painting group will meet on Friday 4th July at Brookhouse Methodist Church from 1-3pm. Everyone welcome whatever your ability. There will be no more meetings then until September.
There will be a car wash and craft fair in aid of street children and poor families in Albania on Saturday 5th July from 10.00am till 1.00pm at Brookhouse Methodist Church.
Enjoy a browse round the crafts and have some refreshments while your car is washed.

We are having an open morning on Tuesday 8th July 9.30am - 11.30am. Anyone wishing to look round with an interest to their child starting pre-school, feel free to pop in. Alison and Linda will be pleased to see you, show you round and answer any questions you may have.

Lune Valley Craft Fairs has been set up to showcase the talents of local artisans. Most of whom are from the Lune Valley area, with one or two from further afield in the North West.
The fairs will be held at the Victoria Institute in Caton on 6th April, 8th June & 17th August – and hopefully another one later in the year in time for your Christmas shopping.
The trip on 28th August will be to Dumfries + Shopping Outlet. Leaving the Victoria Institute at 9.00am. Pick-up at Brookhouse.

Lancaster Sword Club are having an Open Evening on Thursday 4th September at the Sports centre Caton Community Primary School from 7.00-9.00pm. All are welcome to come along see what we do, before we begin a new series of beginner courses for children and adults.
Anne Wareing and Kath Eccleston take on the personae of Doris & Elsie to amuse us with their poetry.
Lune Valley Kids Club, which has provided after school and holiday provision for the children of our villages for a decade at the Victoria Institute, needs new volunteers to manage the Club if it is to survive. Interesting and varied opportunities for helping to run the Club are offered to parents, grandparents, business people, and other community volunteers.
For those interested in Twinning with Socx and especially those planning on joining us on the visit to France, we have arranged a series of informal French conversation sessions.
Each Tuesday we shall gather in the Black Bull, Brookhouse from 8-9pm. Cost per session is £1
This year's Gala was a Huge success, we had a record gate of £3620, our sponsors did us proud and provided £1015, a Big Thank You to you all. The total this year was £6847 and the costs £4004. We need to purchase ten new tables and 80 chairs for future galas.

Some of you may be aware of the open space down by the beck next to the Glen and plans to make it into a pleasant woodland glade. We have had a landscape designer produce a plan which will be available for inspection at an open meeting at the Victoria Institute on Tuesday 16th September at 7pm
