The new Caton Community Library will open for business  in the Victoria Institute on 20th March from 1-5 p.m.  We will be inviting the mayor of Lancaster to come along and officially open the new venture at a later date  So if you have the time drop in to support us.

Our last meeting before the trips start in May will be held on Thursday April 19th. We hope to welcome Mr Philip Sculby with a slide show entitled ‘Impressions of China’. Our meetings are held in the Victoria Institute and commence at 2.15pm.

We have the usual raffle and cup of tea.

Tree Planting at the Fish Stones.

The High Sheriff of Lancashire and the Worshipful the Mayor of Lancaster will plant a successor Oak Tree at the Fish Stones, Caton at 4.00 pm on Friday 27th April.

We hope to get good coverage with the press and maybe even TV so please come along and support this once in a life time event

Our plant sale and coffee morning is on Saturday 12 May from 10 am to 12 noon at the Victoria Institute. Please come along and support one of our main fund raising efforts of the year and do a bit of socialising at the same time. Volunteers to help behind the stalls would be welcome. Entrance is 50p and this includes coffee/tea and biscuits.

The club trip to Levens Hall is on 13 May. Let Graham, 770919, know if you want to come. Details of timing, cost and transport will be posted to those attending nearer the time. In broad terms we will be travelling by car, meeting at 12:30pm at the kiosk, and club members from last year will have subsidised entry. Should be good – the topiary is in great shape!
