Spring is coming and it is time for our Annual Coffee Morning for NWCRF. Money raised supports research at Lancaster University, Liverpool and Bangor, and every £1 raised attracts up to £4 from other bodies.

There will be a meeting for all the volunteers who expressed an interest in helping with the new library service at 8p.m. in the Victoria Institute, Brookhouse Road, Caton. Please attend so we can discuss your availability.

The new Caton Community Library will open for business in the Victoria Institute on 20th March from 1-5 p.m. We will be inviting the mayor of Lancaster to come along and officially open the new venture at a later date So if you have the time drop in to support us.
C & B Senior Citizens are holding their next meeting at the Victoria Institute, Caton on 22nd March where Afternoon Tea and Bingo will be on the agenda.

Annual General Meeting at the Victoria Institute
Price £5.00 per adult, accompanied children free. No dogs. The major part of the garden can be reached by wheel chair. Refreshments are available.
DIRECTIONS: Take the M6 to junction 34 then A683 to Caton (2 miles), turn right towards Quernmore and after half a mile you reach the entrance.
Our last meeting before the trips start in May will be held on Thursday April 19th. We hope to welcome Mr Philip Sculby with a slide show entitled ‘Impressions of China’. Our meetings are held in the Victoria Institute and commence at 2.15pm.
We have the usual raffle and cup of tea.
There will be a trip to Skipton on WEDNESDAY 25th April, leaving at 12.30pm from the Victoria Institute, return approximately 6.00pm. First pick-up will be Brookhouse this time. Please be sure to book your seats with your representative.
There will be one coach only for all outings, very sorry, but there will be no refunds.

The Parish Assembly will be held this year at St Paul’s School Hall, Brookhouse on Thursday 26th April at 7.30. This is your opportunity to have your say about what you want for the Village, so do please come along. The Chairman will give a report and we will have a item on the new web site and on our proposal to Twin with the Village of Socx in northern France.
Tree Planting at the Fish Stones.
The High Sheriff of Lancashire and the Worshipful the Mayor of Lancaster will plant a successor Oak Tree at the Fish Stones, Caton at 4.00 pm on Friday 27th April.
We hope to get good coverage with the press and maybe even TV so please come along and support this once in a life time event

I hereby give notice that the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held at the Victoria Institute on TUESDAY 8th May 2007 at 7.15 pm. Planning Applications will be looked at at 6.45 pm.

Our plant sale and coffee morning is on Saturday 12 May from 10 am to 12 noon at the Victoria Institute. Please come along and support one of our main fund raising efforts of the year and do a bit of socialising at the same time. Volunteers to help behind the stalls would be welcome. Entrance is 50p and this includes coffee/tea and biscuits.

The club trip to Levens Hall is on 13 May. Let Graham, 770919, know if you want to come. Details of timing, cost and transport will be posted to those attending nearer the time. In broad terms we will be travelling by car, meeting at 12:30pm at the kiosk, and club members from last year will have subsidised entry. Should be good – the topiary is in great shape!
We will be having an Open Morning at the Pre-School (next door to Caton St Paul’s School in Brookhouse) on THURSDAY 17th MAY from 9.30am to 11.30 am.
We hope you enjoyed out last meeting and we now commence with the trips.
On Thursday May 17th we are going to Leyland Garden Centre or a Motor Museum. We leave Brookhouse and the Institute at 1pm, returning about 6pm. We only have 1 coach so it is members only at first. Agents will contact members.

The Hornby Drama Group are providing an evening of 2 contrasting one act plays for your entertainment - suspense, mystery and nostalgia.
