Parents, grandparents or anyone keen to help shape a positive, creative future for our playground – and to attract the substantial grant funding we need - are invited to join a small and enthusiastic group to work with professional play area designers. Meetings will be arranged to suit busy parents! If you are interested please contact (Parish Councillor) Chris Kynch.

This year’s Gala theme is space not pace as previously published. (Editor - Sorry!!). The entry forms for the Gala Queen and attendants and for the picture competition have gone out to the schools and the closing date for entries is March 2nd.

The Girls Guides are doing the burger stall on Gala Day - many thanks to them.

We enjoyed great turnouts at our January and February meetings. Thanks to all for the support and to those who helped with refreshments etc. And without looking it up does anyone else out there know what an ortolan is? Marion did!

The Annual Coffee morning for the Caton & Halton Support Group will be held at the Victoria Institute on Saturday 25th April from 10.00am until noon. There will be all the usual stalls - Cakes & Preserves; Bric-a-Brac; New Items; Books and Jigsaws; and Crafts plus a Raffle. Admission will remain at 75pence to include tea/coffee & home made biscuits.

Maurice Steel is well known for his photographic presentations of the area. Having retired, he has been travelling further afield - hence the title of his latest presentation. Who knows where he has been?

This is an open evening so everyone is welcome, men or women.

Wine and "nibbles" will be served. Free to members. Non-members £2

Bingo + Afternoon Tea will take place in the Victoria Institute on Thursday 26th March at 2.00pm. The tea will be after the Bingo. Bookings via your representative.

The famous Poet, Paul Cookson will be visiting Caton St. Pauls Primary School on 4th March. He will be in school working with each class, with books being sold after school on the 4th, 5th and 6th. This is part of the school’s annual Book Fair, working with Scholastic, to inspire and motivate young readers.

This lovely club is set in the heart of the Lune Valley with 3 beautiful grass courts and 2 floodlit hard courts. We invite you to come down and join us on our open afternoons and welcome players of all calibres, from beginners to champions. So please come along to our mixing-in days on Sunday 10th and 17th May at 1.30pm. Beats going to the Gym.
