Poor’s Land Charity Distribution

Forms for the Poor’s Land Charity Distribution are currently available at the Caton Post Office.

If you think you’re eligible please fill one in and return it to the box in the Post Office before the end of November.



Twinning update - Caton & Brookhouse - Socx

Many in the village will know (because there has been previous publicity in The Link) that about a year ago we received a twinning proposal from the village of Socx in northern France. Socx is a bit further from Dunquerque than we are from Lancaster.



November PACT Youth Update

Caton P.A.C.T (Police and Community Together) is open to all young people from the ages of 11 to 18 at Hornby Road Police Station. Entrance and membership is free and we have available, pool, darts, TV, DVD, the internet, music, refreshments and a rest room.

Caton Gala 2008

Any local organisations that would like to raise funds, we have the burger stall, tombola, teas and cakes and ice cream for you to run. Contact John Hall on 770682 if you are interested.

We are going to have the craft tent again next year. Anybody interested in having a stall contact Janette Rawcliffe on 770196.

C & B Senior Citizens present PRIZE BINGO

There will be ‘PRIZE BINGO’ at the Victoria Institute on Saturday 10th November, commencing at 7.30pm. Members and friends are all welcome to this our fund raising event for 2007. Come along and win some prizes to start your Christmas shopping - Whisky, Gin, Brandy, Wine, Chocolates etc.



Caton St. Paul’s School Textiles Collection

On Friday 2nd November we are holding a Textiles Collection outside School between 8.15 – 9.15 am. There will be a van outside School for you to drop your bagged items off.


St Paul's School Christmas Fair

On Friday 30th November we will be holding our Christmas Fair at 6.00 pm in the School Hall. Entrance 50p – children free with an accompanying adult.

There will be various stalls, secrets room, Santa’s Grotto, Raffle, refreshments and much much more. Please come along and support this event.

Lune Valley Pre-school Centre

We are very pleased to say that our Ofsted registration has now been extended to include 2 year olds. We will be opening extra sessions on Tuesday and Thursday morning 9.00am - 11.30am. We will only be taking 8 children per session, and the cost for each session will be £6.00.

Bill Davies, Director of the Lancaster Environment Centre, and long time resident of the village, will be telling us how global warming is affecting our plant growth now and the predictions for the future of gardening practice.
