A new Parish Council was elected and held its first meeting on Tuesday 8th May. Joyce Pritchard was elected Chairman with Ray Elvis as Vice-Chairman. Other members of the Parish Council are David Coltman, Ron Gibbons, Maureen Williams, Vernon Williams, Pat Quinton, Chris Kynch, Stuart Langhorn, Pat Marshall, Jane Parkinson and Joan Jackson.

Judging for the Best Kept Village Competition gets underway soon so we would like to ask that everybody plays their part in trying to keep the villages neat and litter free. All front gardens are judged for the Village Garden Competition, sponsored by the Parish Council and the Caton and Brookhouse Gardening Club.

A successor Oak Tree was planted in the bowl of the existing Oak at the Fish Stones on Friday 27th April by the High Sheriff of Lancashire, the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Lancaster, The Chairman of Caton-with-Littledale Parish Council and the children from our two Primary Schools.

Let’s make this year better than ever.

Don’t forget the Gala. Come and have a great afternoon out. Enter your bike in the fancy dress parade, leaving the Black Bull at 12noon. Prizes to be won. Anyone who feels they can help out on the day contact Ian Rawcliffe on 770196.

At Caton Gala we man the Caton and Brookhouse Gardening Club tent.

This year, as usual, plants will be on sale, you will be able to join and there will be other information about the Gardening Club.

Caton and Brookhouse 125 anniversary Open Gardens.

15 gardens to see with tea and cake on sale at some.

Programmes containing maps available at £2.50 from Station Garage, Brookhouse Convenience Stores and the gardens themselves.

The trip to Durham will leave the Victoria Institute at 9.00am on Thursday 28th June. The first pick up will be Brookhouse.

We are so sorry we had to cancel the May outing due to lack of support.

The new financial year has now commenced and we thank all our continuing and new members for their support. Many thanks to those members who renewed their membership.

Friends of Caton St Paul’s School Family Fun Day on Saturday 23rd June between 2.00 and 4.00pm in the School grounds. Admission £1 for adults. All Children accompanied by an adult are free.

There will be refreshments, various stalls, face painting, fun and games for everyone. Please come along and support this event. Everyone welcome.
