Caton-with-Littledale Parish Council Community Awards

These are given each year to members of the parish who have given of their time to make the lives of people better. Do you know someone who helps with one of the many groups and organisations in the village? Is there someone who has given to our community over several years in lots of different ways?
Caton Gala
Submitted by Ian Rawcliffe on Thu, 21/02/2008 - 7:06am.In 2006 we were asked to vacate our store in Copy Lane, so United Utilities could sell it for development. We received £10,000 compensation, so we could rent or buy a store for our Gala equipment. The Gala Committee were approached by the Committee restoring the old Scout Hut for financial help, and offering storage facilities if need for our Gala equipment.
The Old Scout Hut
Submitted by Administrator on Thu, 21/02/2008 - 7:08am.The improvements to the old scout hut, which is to be a youth centre/boxing club are coming along at pace. Local members of the village have donated their time and other resources into this project.
2nd Lune Valley Rainbows
Submitted by Administrator on Thu, 21/02/2008 - 7:09am.A new Rainbows group starts on Wednesday 27th February from 5.30- 6.30pm at St Pauls Church Hall, Brookhouse. The group is for girls aged 5-7 years old and will run weekly in term time.
We currently have 2 young Leaders to support this group but would welcome further adult help. For further information please telephone 770845.
Senior Citizens Club Afternoon Tea

Caton County Primary School Jumble Sale and Auction

The Institute doors will open on the day from 10am until 12 o’clock for dropping off jumble

Counting Caton's Carbon

LESS Climate Change and Energy Advice Project will be holding an open meeting about Climate Change and what we in Caton and Brookhouse can practically do about it. This will address some of the frequently asked questions about climate change and give examples of how other village communities are tackling this challenge.
Caton Pre-School Playgroup Childrens Nearly New Sale
Submitted by Administrator on Thu, 21/02/2008 - 7:19am.To raise funds for Playgroup we are holding another Nearly New Sale. Admission is only £1 and includes a brew and a biscuit. It is not a jumble sale and all items must be nearly new. Childrens items such as toys, clothes, books, baby equipment and maternity wear can be brought between 10.00 – 11.30 on the Thursday morning.
