North West Cancer Research Fund Coffee Morning

Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 23/12/2007 - 5:31am.Lancashire Wildlife Trust is currently felling Sycamore trees within Aughton Woods nature reserve. (On the opposite bank of the river Lune from Brookhouse and Claughton). Sycamores are not native to Britain, having probably been introduced, in the 15th or 16th century, from the hills of Central to South Eastern Europe.
Victoria Institute Jumble Sale and Auction

Caton Church Scout Group
Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 23/12/2007 - 5:24am.District Camping and Skills Competition - September at Silverhelm. Friday night to late on Sunday afternoon. Setting up the camp in the dark which they did quite well on. After breakfast on Saturday, Judging on Site Layout, Camp Gadgets and a Clean Site, and other things. They received average marks. The overall position was 5th.
Senior Citizens Club AGM

Caton Gala - 7th June 2008
Submitted by Ian Rawcliffe on Sun, 23/12/2007 - 5:16am.Our plans are progressing well for the event and we hope yours are to, for the floats, fancy dress bikes and another other fancy dress entries remember the theme is ‘Animals’. To add to the attractions we mentioned in the December’s Link we have also booked the Rodeo Bull, bouncy castle assault course and a gyroscope.
Zebra Crossing
Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 23/12/2007 - 5:14am.Hornby Road seems to be getting busier these days so do take extra care when using the Zebra Crossing – Although pedestrians have right of way some motorists don’t seem to agree or even see the crossing, please make sure it is safe to cross !
Christmas and New Year Waste Collections
Submitted by Bruce Alexander on Sun, 23/12/2007 - 5:13am.The waste collections are on your calendars.The week beginning 9th January will start the extra Grey Bin collection instead of the Green Bin. Re-Cycling Boxes will be collected as normal.

This should be a facinating talk on one of the Lakedistrict's most popular 'houses'.
